Listed as the potential starter at Mike linebacker, Georgia junior Reggie Carter will not play in today’s opener against Louisiana Monroe, according to the AJC.

UAB transfer Jake Ganus is expected to start in the middle.

Carter played in 12 games last season and accumulated 28 tackles. He was listed as questionable earlier this week with a sore soldier.

Reserve running back A.J. Turman reportedly will not dress as well.
