Redshirt freshman QB Nick Robinson will transfer from Georgia, according to Anthony Dasher of UGASports.com.

Dasher tweeted Thursday afternoon that the news came from Robinson via text message.

Robinson, from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., was a three-star quarterback in the 2015 class according to 247Sports. He had scholarship offers from FIU and Florida Atlantic, but elected to walk on at Georgia.

With both talent and experience already on UGA’s depth chart, Robinson was projected to be a contender for the four-string quarterback along with fellow walk-on Sam Vaughn, a redshirt sophomore.

Robinson played in the second half of Georgia’s spring game, going 5-of-7 for 49 yards with one touchdown.
