Georgia WR Arian Smith posts impressive 100m time for top-10 finish in SEC Championship

Arian Smith’s “SEC speed” holds up not only on the gridiron but also on the track.
The Georgia wide receiver impressed at this weekend’s SEC Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas. Making his track debut, Smith clocked a 10.40-second run in the 100-meter prelims which was good enough to qualify.

Smith trimmed a little off to get it to 10.18, good enough for an eighth-place finish. UGA’s Matthew Boling was second with a blazing 9.97.

On the gridiron, Smith appeared in the last four games, making 2 catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. With that blazing speed, it’s hard not to think he’ll be getting more touches with a year of learning the playbook under his belt.
Out of Lakeland (Florida), Smith was a 4-star recruit, rated the No. 9 wide receiver and No. 58 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2020 on the 247Sports Composite.
