Georgia WR Reggie Davis wants to make amends for last year’s big drop

Georgia WR Reggie Davis had one of the most heartbreaking drops in college football last season.
With the Bulldogs trailing Tennessee 38-31, Davis broke away from his defender as QB Greyson Lambert fired a pass his way.
Though Davis finished that game with 12 catches for 187 yards and one touchdown, he said in a Rivals.com article that all people remember is the drop:
“It motivates me a lot. I still get those tweets and pictures,” Davis said after practice Tuesday. “At first it’s heartbreaking but you can’t let your past carry you down too far, you’ve got to let the past be the past.”
However, while trying to forget the drop, Davis said he also wants to make sure he learns from the mistake:
“Oh yeah it killed me last year. You want to make that type of play, especially in the type of game that I was having,” Davis said. “I really should just have caught it with my hands instead of trying to catch it with my body. That’s what I learned as a player, so now I just try to catch everything with my hands.”
Davis will be a senior for the Bulldogs in 2016 and said he hopes to end his college career on a high note. If he’s able to make a game-winning catch this season, maybe fans will finally let him forget about last year’s mistake.
