Former Tennessee running back Gerald Riggs Jr. lands high school coaching position
One of the highest-ranked high school prospects in the nation in the 2002 recruiting cycle will soon be able to help the next generation of prospects rise up the recruiting rankings.
Former Tennessee running back Gerald Riggs Jr. has been named the new running backs coach at North Jackson High School in Stevenson, Ala.
A native of Chattanooga, Riggs was the No. 1 running back prospect in the country when he starred at Red Bank during his prep career. Following his outstanding prep career, Riggs signed with Tennessee to play for Phillip Fulmer, where he went on to rush for 1,893 yards and 10 touchdowns in addition to 20 catches for 123 yards during his four seasons on Rocky Top.
Now Riggs will be using his knowledge and experience to help the next generation of high school athletes achieve their dreams on the gridiron in the hopes of landing a college scholarship.
Riggs is scheduled to make his coaching debut with North Jackson on Friday, Sept 11 against Kate Duncan Smith DAR.
North Jackson announced Riggs’ hiring with the following post on Twitter:
