It gets weirder: Offensive lineman sacks his own quarterback

Oklahoma State’s offense Saturday hasn’t resembled the ultra-explosive unit it fielded the first three weeks of the season.

And no play exhibited this better than a laughable moment in the third quarter.

Oklahoma State’s offensive line was unable to protect the pocket from collapsing around quarterback Mason Rudolph. And in this instance, the line had a problem protecting Rudolph from itself. Right tackle Teven Jenkins wasn’t able to stay in front TCU defensive lineman Mat Boesen, the player he was supposed to block.

As he kept his eyes on Boesen in the backfield, Jenkins collided with Rudolph, “sacking” his quarterback for 7-yard loss.

One play later, Rudolph was intercepted.

At the time of this writing, the Cowboys trailed the Horned Frogs 34-17 with approximately four minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Check out video of the bizarre play below.
