Giants reportedly asking for huge trade bounty in return for Odell Beckham Jr.
Is Odell Beckham Jr. worth nearly the same as a franchise quarterback? The Giants seem to think so on the trade market but ironically don’t seem to think so when offering the former LSU receiver a contract that would equal that value.
According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, New York is seeking to get two first-round picks on the trade market in exchange for Beckham.
It’s a high price to pay for any team, especially for a player coming off an injury-plagued season. After three historically great seasons for New York, Beckham appeared in only four games last season. In his four NFL seasons, Beckham has 313 catches for 4,424 yards and 38 touchdowns for the Giants.
Along with the rumored asking price, Schefter notes the team claims it is not shopping the All-Pro receiver at this time. Beckham is actively seeking a new contract from the club at this time.
Giants have asked for at least two first-round picks in return for Odell Beckham Jr., a league source tells ESPN, even though team insists it is not shopping him.
Doesn’t mean they get it, or close to it, or even trade OBJ. But they have asked for at least two first-round picks.
