Great minds think alike: Kellen Mond and Jimbo Fisher were on the same page for key play in Texas A&M-LSU game

A key part of the legend of Texas A&M’s 7OT game against LSU is that there was almost no overtime.
There was the premature Gatorade bath Ed Orgeron received after Kellen Mond threw an interception that was reversed following an instant replay review in the officiating booth. Before throwing the interception, Mond’s knee was revealed to be on the ground following the snap, which killed the play with 29 seconds remaining.
On the ensuing drive, Mond hit receiver Quartney Davis for a touchdown, tying the game (with the completion of the extra point) and sending the contest into overtime.
It should not have surprised anyone that the game was a popular topic at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama. Mond revealed an interesting nugget talking to reporters. Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher asked Mond what play he wanted to call. Mond suggested the play that Fisher had already called up to the press box.
