Greg McElroy breaks down the biggest matchups in college football each week. The Missouri-Georgia matchup is no exception and the former Alabama QB gave his thoughts on the game.

“It goes without saying that Missouri cannot lose the turnover battle,” McElroy said. “If they do, they’re in big trouble.”

Ultimately, McElroy just doesn’t think the Tigers will be able to do enough to win, especially with the game being in Athens.

“This is going to be an interesting game, but I really don’t see how Missouri can ultimately win at Georgia,” McElroy declared. “Can they keep it close? Can they make it interesting? The answer to both of those questions is yes.”

The Bulldogs have won 9-straight against the Tigers and have only lost to the team once. The Tigers’ lone victory over the Bulldogs came in 2013, with the Tigers winning 41-26. Since then, it’s been all Bulldogs, with most of the games not being close.

In 2022, the Tigers played it close, falling 26-22 in Columbia. For a similar result or win, Brady Cook will need to play the game of his life. The Tiger defense will also need to come up big against the Brock Bowers-less Bulldogs.

The SEC East rivals are slated to kick off from Athens at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
