Greg McElroy understands how things go when it comes to Alabama football as a former quarterback for the Crimson Tide. He played for legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban and is still connected to the program under first-year coach Kalen DeBoer.
During Alabama’s 2 losses in a 3-game stretch, many people across college football have been calling out a lack of discipline in the program. DeBoer has a more laid back approach than Saban, but McElroy said the Crimson Tide’s new coach can still get after a player if he needs to.

“A lot of people have said, well Kalen DeBoer, he’s just not a guy who is going to get into people’s faces,” McElroy said. “That is just completely inaccurate. Kalen DeBoer is coaching hard. Just because he’s got a little bit more of an approachable demeanor in the press conferences doesn’t mean he’s not a guy who will absolutely get after you both on the field and behind closed doors.”
The Crimson Tide responded in a big way last week as they shutout previously ranked Missouri, 34-0. Alabama is off next week and then will be on the road in a huge game against LSU.
