Greg McElroy reveals score prediction for Oklahoma-Texas in Week 7

Greg McElroy weekly makes his picks for the biggest games on the college football schedule, and this may be the best week of college football games in recent memory. There are big-time matchups all across the country, and one of the biggest is in the SEC between Oklahoma and Texas in the annual Red River Rivalry.
The Sooners have won 5 of the last 6 games in this matchup, including last season’s thrilling 34-30 victory. Despite the recent success, Oklahoma is looked at as a huge underdog, as the Longhorns are currently a 14.5-point favorite per bet365.
This is the 3rd time that the Longhorns have been a 2-touchdown favorite against Oklahoma, with the other 2 years being 1978 and 2005. It is also the first time that Oklahoma has been an underdog of at least 13 points since the 2018 Playoff game against Alabama.
With this looking like a blowout, how does McElroy see this game going?
“I will take Texas, I think they win and cover,” McElroy said. “I expect a dominant performance here from the Longhorns. I think when we look at Oklahoma, I just don’t trust them offensively. I don’t trust their offensive line. I think their defense will hold up for as long as humanly possible. I don’t think they can hold up for 60 minutes. It’s going to be close for a couple of quarters, but Texas eventually pulls away and wins the game comfortably. I am thinking around and get the 35-17 in that vicinity.”
Kickoff will be 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be on ABC.
