Alabama head coach Nick Saban is without a doubt one of the best head coaches in the history of college football, guiding the Alabama Crimson Tide to a host of undefeated seasons and national championship victories as one of the greatest dynasty programs of all time.

But it isn’t just Saban having the success. Those who have worked under him, including several analysts, have grown to climb the coaching ladder in a number of different places. In a way it’s come to be known as a “coaching rehab clinic of sorts.

College football analyst Greg McElroy recently dove into that topic.

“When you look at the quote rehab projects, guys have gotten jobs… having worked as an analyst at Alabama than at most other places,” McElroy said. “Now, I don’t have it line by line. If you sent me a list of, say, analysts at Oklahoma, have they placed just as many? I have no idea. But I get a sense that Steve Sarkisian was at one point an analyst at Alabama. Mike Locksley was at one point an analyst at Alabama. Todd Grantham was at one point an analyst at Alabama…”

It’s a long list, as McElroy goes on to further explain.

How others on the Saban coaching tree continue to grow will be something to watch as Alabama itself looks to bounce back from missing the college football playoff — quite an anomaly for the team — moving forward into the 2023 season.
