The SEC (and the rest of college football, for that matter) is in an interesting position approaching the 2020 season.

Some want to keep the season going as scheduled, while others want to delay a couple of weeks or move it to the spring.

But, during an ESPN special on Tuesday, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said he’ll be closely watching the pro sports leagues that are returning over the next couple of weeks:

“We look at next week as an important milestone,” he said. “I have finished 41 marathons in my life and I realized you’re going to go mile by mile. We are on that journey. The challenge right now is to understand where that finish line may be. …

“We’ve got learning opportunities. We’ve tried to use every one of these experiences as opportunities to help our decision-making.”

How will things go for the pro leagues, particularly the NFL? The SEC will be watching.
