Auburn has been without sophomore WR Kyle Davis throughout the spring practice session, as Davis missed all 15 practices to deal with “personal business,” according to head coach Gus Malzahn.

Though the Tigers were hopeful that Davis would get some work in this spring, that never happened, so now the team is shifting its expectations.

During an interview on Cole Cubelic’s radio show on Thursday (via AL.com), Malzahn said he expects to have the talented receiver back in uniform when the Tigers kick off their fall training program:

“Yeah, we do,” Malzahn said. “We expect him back and ready to go.”

Davis finished the 2016 season with 12 catches for 248 yards and two touchdowns while flashing potential that has Auburn fans excited about what he can do as a sophomore.

Obviously, without knowing what his “personal business” entails, it’s important for him to take care of what he needs to before he returns to the football field. When he finally does don a helmet again, though, he’ll be one of the biggest keys to Auburn’s offense.
