Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham has been named Auburn’s starting quarterback, but that doesn’t mean things can’ change before the Sept. 2 opener.
However, following the Tigers’ scrimmage on Saturday, coach Gus Malzahn said that, if anything, Stidham has gotten better since being named the starter earlier this week.
Malzahn told reporters that Stidham continues to gain mastery of the offense and was impressive again on Saturday:
Gus Malzahn on Jarrett Stidham: "That's his offense now. … I really think he's raised his level, as far as that's concerned."

Stidham beat out Sean White, who started for the Tigers last year, during a competition this summer. Now, Auburn’s high hopes will be pinned on him when the 2017 season kicks off.
The Tigers host Georgia Southern in Week 1 in a game that should provide Stidham plenty of opportunities to show his skill. Auburn fans will be anxiously waiting to see their new quarterback in action.
