Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham was severely limited this spring, thanks in large part to his recovery from an offseason shoulder surgery.

However, every expectation within the Auburn program is that he’ll be able to play in Week 1, but he’ll need to have a good summer to inspire confidence.

On Wednesday, coach Gus Malzahn said he believes Stidham is still on track to be 100-percent ready when the Tigers return for summer camp (via AL.com):

“When we come back, he’ll be turned loose to do everything,” Malzahn said Wednesday before his first stop on the Ambush tour in Montgomery. “I know he’s really looking forward to that. He could’ve done a little bit more the last week of spring, we just didn’t want to take any chances. We wanted to be cautious with him, but he’ll be back ready to go when we come back.”

That’s obviously good news for the Tigers, who didn’t get much production out of their backup quarterbacks this spring.

However, this summer, Stidham will have to prove he’s fully healthy, or else questions will plague him heading into Week 1 and beyond.
