The Auburn Tigers are living a dream season in 2017.
The Tigers took down No. 1 Georgia a couple weeks ago, and now, they’ve taken down No. 1 Alabama 26-14 in the Iron Bowl.
With the win over the Tide, 10-2 Auburn advances to the SEC Championship Game with a rematch against the Georgia Bulldogs. Along with the SEC Championship Game berth, the College Football Playoff is still on the table, too.
Following the huge win over the Tide, Gus Malzahn spoke to CBS Sports’ Allie LaForce.
“I’m so proud of our team,” Malzahn said. “It’s so hard to do (beat the No. 1 team twice in one season). We beat them handily, too. We’re playing good football right now. We’re playing our best football. Very few teams are doing that right now, but we’re one of them.
“It’s a big moment for us. We’re on our way.”
Malzahn praised Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham and Alabama QB Jalen Hurts.
“He (Jarrett Stidham) made plays with his feet and made some great throws. Our defense did really well. That QB (Jalen Hurts) is so good running the football.”
Auburn and Georgia will play Saturday for the SEC Championship crown.
