Guy Morriss, former Kentucky, Baylor coach, dies at 71

Guy Morriss, a former Kentucky and Baylor head coach, died at age 71 Tuesday after a battle with Alzheimers. Morriss was diagnosed with the disease in 2016, per Football Scoop.com.

Morriss played a successful 15-year NFL career as an offensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. He took up coaching in 1987 following his stint as a player.

He found his way to Kentucky in 1992, eventually becoming the head coach after a stint as the Offensive line coach. Morriss left for Baylor in 2003, spending 5 seasons in Waco. He had stops at Kentucky State, Texas A&M-Commerce and high school in Kentucky before being diagnosed with Alzheimers.

Rest in peace, Coach Morriss.
