Ha Ha Clinton-Dix moving on from Chicago, free agent defensive back lands new contract
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is rejoining forces with Mike McCarthy.
The two previously worked together in Green Bay, where Clinton-Dix starred in the Packers’ secondary from 2014 to 2018 after being selected in the first round by the franchise and McCarthy served as head coach during that span.
Now with McCarthy landing the head coaching job with the Dallas Cowboys, it hasn’t taken him long to bring in his former defensive back as Clinton-Dix’s agency announced the team’s signing of the free agent defensive back.
Jane Slater of NFL Media is reporting Clinton-Dix signed a one-year deal worth a total of $4 million to play for the Cowboys in 2020.
Last season, Clinton-Dix played for the Chicago Bears, where he appeared in all 16 games for the team and made 78 tackles, two interceptions and defended five passes. During the 2018 season, Clinton-Dix was traded from Green Bay, where he played seven games, to Washington, where he played the other nine games of the season.
For his NFL career, Clinton-Dix has made a total of 96 career appearances — never missing a game in six seasons — while registering 522 tackles, 16 interceptions, 33 passes defended and made 5.5 sacks.
Clinton-Dix played his college football at Alabama and finished his college career as a member of the program’s 2012 national championship team.
