Harold Perkins Jr. has provided LSU a spark on many occasions. This time, however, it came in a unique way.
After Noah Cain got stopped just shy of the goal line, Brian Kelly sent his 6-1, 220-pound linebacker in to play running back. Perkins punched it with a 1-yard touchdown run to get the Tigers on the board in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

LSU got off to a slower than expected start down in Tampa. Wisconsin jumped out to a 14-0 lead, making it even more important that the Tigers were able to punch it in at the goal line.
Perkins’ touchdown may have led to a momentum swing. On the Badger possession that followed, the LSU defense was able to get a stop and force a 51-yard field goal attempt that went wide left.
LSU did not need Perkins on its next offensive possession. The Tigers went on a 7-play, 67-yard scoring drive capped by a Kaleb Jackson 12-yard touchdown run. LSU made the extra point to tie it up 14-14 with 1:28 remaining in the half.
The game is airing on ESPN2.
