Harold Perkins remains one of the best defensive playmakers in the SEC and a key piece to LSU’s team. Unfortunately, the Tigers may have to go the rest of the season without Perkins in the lineup.
Perkins left the Week 4 UCLA game with an injury, and it looks like the star linebacker will be out for the rest of the season. According to Matt Zenitz with CBS Sports, Perkins is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season, and the belief is that Perkins tore an ACL.
That is a major blow to LSU, to say the least.

Immediately after the UCLA game, head coach Brian Kelly said Perkins would undergo tests for a few days and more information would be revealed on Monday. While Sunday’s report is not the official update to Perkins, it puts an ominous outlook for Kelly’s announcement to begin the week.
Perkins was tied for 4th on LSU with 17 total tackles through the first 4 games of the season. He also has 1.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery to his credit.
Across his 3-year career, Perkins has 164 total tackles and 13 sacks and had developed into a true leader for the Tigers. If he is indeed out for the season, LSU will need to fill a massive hole on the defense.
