Harrison Mevis just kicked his way into the Missouri football record books.
The Mizzou kicker knocked a 42-yarder through the uprights to give the No. 12 Tigers a 13-10 lead over No. 1 Georgia. It’s his 2nd made field goal of the afternoon.
It also gives Mevis a pretty special honor. Mevis is now the Tigers’ all-time leading scorer, surpassing Jeff Wolfert’s mark of 362 points. Mevis is now up to 363 points and counting on his career.
Georgia has since responded, however. The Bulldogs started the drive slow but found the end zone to take a 17-13 lead over the Tigers following a scoring rush from Kendall Milton.
The Tigers are playing Georgia tough in Athens, though. Brady Cook and Co. are playing well even with Luther Burden missing plenty of the first half with an injury.
Mizzou controls its own destiny to reach the SEC Championship game, but they have to find a way to finish against the juggernaut that is Kirby Smart and Georgia.
Let’s see if the Tigers can find another gear.
