Former Auburn QB Cam Newton was fined $9,115 by the NFL on Friday for a celebration that occurred in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Newton converted a third-down play and then got into it with former LSU LB Deion Jones, throwing the football at Jones’s chest:

It was a rough night for Newton. In addition to the fine, he also left the game with a concussion and his Carolina Panthers lost to the Falcons 48-33 to fall to 1-3 on the season.
