Here’s how SEC teams stack up in ESPN’s Playoff Predictor after the second week of play

According to ESPN’s Allstate Playoff Predictor, only two SEC teams currently have a significant chance at qualifying for the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.
Alabama is at the top the list after two dominant performances over Missouri and Texas A&M, with a 68% chance to qualify and a 25% chance to win the National Championship. The Crimson Tide are behind only Ohio State, who have a 69% chance to make the playoff and a 27% chance to win it all, according to the metric.
Georgia’s big win over Auburn on Saturday helped the Bulldogs’ national outlook, shutting down the Tigers in a 27-6 victory. The Playoff Predictor lists Georgia as having a 45% chance to make it in, with only an 11% chance to win the title. Clemson is the only program sitting in between Alabama and Georgia.
Further down the list is Florida, with a 14% chance to make it in and a 2% chance to win the Playoff. Auburn is still included despite the loss at Georgia, with only a 3% chance to qualify and a less than 1% chance to win it all.
We will learn more about Georgia on Saturday, as Kirby Smart’s third-ranked Bulldogs host No. 14 Tennessee. Alabama is expected to handily outscore Ole Miss, but Georgia and Alabama face off in Week 4 in what will likely be the most highly-anticipated SEC matchup in the first half of the 10-game slate.
