High school coach of Najee Harris expects freshman RB to play immediately for Alabama
The hype is alive and well for Alabama early enrollee Najee Harris. The five-star running back prospect from California has his work cut out for him if he intends to see any playing time next season in the Crimson Tide’s loaded backfield, but according to one of his high school coaches, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
When interviewed by former Bleacher Report recruiting writer Tyler Donohue, Harris’ former offensive coordinator at Antioch High School Brett Dudley had some glowing remarks regarding the star prospect. While there have been seemingly an unlimited number of positive adjectives used to describe the elite on-the-field characteristics and physical traits of Harris’ game in high school, Dudley points to the prized back’s poise and overall mentality as reasons to expect the star recruit to make an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa next season.

Considering the Tide have junior running backs Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris along with sophomores Josh Jacobs and B.J. Emmons, not to mention fellow early enrollees Chadarius Townsend and Brian Robinson, all on the roster and competing for reps at running back, it won’t be easy for Harris to get on the field next season.
Despite the competition standing in his way, at least according to his former coach, it’s going to be tough for Alabama to keep Harris on the sidelines for long next season.
