Westinghouse HS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania entered Friday night’s semifinal matchup against Perry HS with just 11 active players. That’s thanks to a suspension that saw 38 players barred from the matchup for leaving the sidelines during an altercation during last week’s matchup.

You’d think it would be tough sledding for Westinghouse, which played for the State 2A title last season. Especially when the coaching staff was only able to put 10 players on defense, opting to rest a lineman who would have been caught in a tough mismatch.

It went exactly opposite of how you’d expect. According to FootballScoop, Westinghouse beat Perry HS Friday night 68-0 in a game that was never competitive.

Perry only had 19 players active for the game, but those extra players are still crucial in maintaining some much-needed rest rotation. Westinghouse had 10 of their 11 active players on Ironman duty the entire game.

Decisive isn’t a strong enough word. Westinghouse led 60-0 at halftime and took their foot off the pedal in the late stages. Perry totaled -20 rushing yards by the end of the game.

Westinghouse is now on to the City League title matchup against Allderdice.
