The BCS was last used in the 2013 season, but the formula lives on. The website BCSKnowHow.com shares what the rankings would look like if a combination of polls were used to rank the top 25.
For the first time in the 2025 season, the site shared the “BCS” top 25. Here’s a look at the rankings after Week 9:

A part of the formula is the AP Poll, and it currently has the top 8 teams in the same rankings.
However, the College Football Playoff rankings haven’t come out yet, as the first rankings will be released on ESPN on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
After the rankings come out next Tuesday, college football fans will be able to compared the CFP rankings to what the BCS rankings would be. For most of college football fans, the fact that so many more teams have a chance to win the national championship is definitely what they want. However, for those fans who are looking for the nostalgic days of one single loss costing a team that opportunity, they will be able to look at those BCS rankings and see what might have been.
