Hugh Freeze and his Liberty Flames team face a tough task going up against the Arkansas Razorbacks up next on the schedule. This won’t be Freeze’s first trip to Fayetteville and there’s no denying that he struggled there in his time as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels.
“I’ve never had success in Fayetteville,” Freeze said in his Monday press conference.
External factors played a role in that as well, though.
“Now I’ll say this, the two times I’ve been there it was the worst weather I think I’ve ever coached in. Both times… It was awful. My daughters, to this day, they think Fayetteville, back then, they thought we were going to Alaska, the way our trips were in late November there when I was at Ole Miss.”
Freeze held an overall record of 1-2 with the Rebels in Arkansas. His single victory came with his 2012 team, 30-27 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas.
