Ole Miss starting cornerback Ken Webster and backup running back Eric Swinney are out for the remainder of the 2016 season with knee injuries, head coach Hugh Freeze confirmed to ESPN.com Tuesday.
Both players were injured during the Rebels’ 45-34 loss to Florida State Monday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Webster was carted off after landing awkwardly on a deep pass during the Seminoles’ opening drive.

The junior cornerback announced his season was over on social media hours before Freeze’s confirmation.

Webster started at cornerback in each of the Rebels’ 13 games in 2015. He recorded 41 tackles, one interception and 11 pass break ups.
Swinney’s absences adds to Ole Miss’ depth concerns at running back. Jordan Wilkins, who led all returning backs with 740 career rushing yards, is already serving a season-long suspension for academic reasons.
