Hugh Freeze, Liberty suffer embarrassing upset loss

Hugh Freeze and Liberty entered Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe as 32.5 point favorites; however, Terry Bowden and ULM upset the Flames 31-28.

Liberty quarterback, and former Auburn signal caller, Malik Willis finished just 16-of-28 for 135 yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.

The Flames finished with 386 yards of total offense and suffered 3 turnovers in the loss. Louisiana-Monroe took advantage of the turnovers and scored 28 third quarter points in the win.
