Hugh Freeze promised fans that Auburn will be changing how it handles its quarterback rotation in the future.
Freeze didn’t like how frequently Payton Thorne and Robby Ashford switched out against Cal.
Freeze assured the Tiger faithful at Thursday’s radio show that they won’t be seeing that again. Auburn faces Samford in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
“There was a little too much in and out in that game,” said Freeze. “I don’t think you’ll see that again.”

Thorne had 94 yards passing with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Ashford completed one pass and had 8 yards rushing in the 14-10 win over the Golden Bears.
Ashford’s athleticism makes him valuable. He proved he has what it takes to contribute, with 3 rushing touchdowns against UMass.
It’ll be interesting to see how Freeze incorporates Ashford into the offense around Thorne from now on.
