Hugh Freeze offered an update on a few players who have been dealing with injuries during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday.

Freeze said that defensive lineman Mosiah Nasili-Kite will miss the remainder of the year after suffering a torn bicep against Georgia on Saturday. The senior has logged 10 tackles this season.

He also said that running back Damai Alston is expected to be back in the next few weeks, likely against either LSU or Auburn. Alston has been out since the Texas A&M game 2 weeks ago. He has logged 131 yards and a touchdown on the season.

Wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson has been dealing with a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the Georgia game, but Freze did not provide a timetable for his return.

Freeze said that linebacker Austin Keys, who has been dealing with a thumb injury since early September is “about 3 weeks away from deciding whatever they’re going to do.” Keys has missed every game since the season opener against UMass.

Freeze is hopeful that defensive back Keionte Scott will make a return before the end of the year. Scott has been dealing with an ankle injury since Week 3.

Auburn will get a chance to nurse some players back to health during the bye week this weekend.
