A few key Ole Miss players are trying to get healthier as the Rebels attempt to become bowl-eligible this weekend.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze during a Monday news conference updated the status of freshman receiver A.J. Brown and senior defensive back Tony Bridges ahead of the annual Egg Bowl rivalry against Mississippi State.
A.J. Brown is “sore,” but Freeze expects him to go. Tony Bridges is day-to-day, Freeze said. #OleMiss

Brown, the fifth-leading receivers in the Rebels’ pass-happy offense, is dealing with some soreness but will likely play. He has caught 26 passes for 371 yards and two touchdowns as a true freshman this season.
A strained oblique kept Bridges, who has 21 tackles and three passes defensed this season, from participating in his Ole Miss’ 38-17 loss at Vanderbilt last weekend. Freeze said the defensive back is “day-to-day.”
Ole Miss (5-6, 2-5) will host the Bulldogs (4-7, 2-5) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
