Dan Mullen had Florida in the College Football Playoff picture deep into the 2020 season with an 8-1 start. The Gators finished the 2020 campaign by dropping the final 3 games to an undermanned LSU in the home finale, No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.
UF’s 2021 season is off to a worse-than-expected 4-3 start, including road losses against unranked Kentucky and LSU teams.
Entering Saturday’s Florida-LSU game, there was talk of Tigers coach Ed Orgeron being on the hot seat. After LSU’s 49-42 win, it may be Mullen who is on the hot seat.
