High expectations surrounded the Texas A&M Aggies headed into the 2022 season, but the team quickly fell off the radar with an upset loss to Appalachian State and has been lackluster all round.

Some have gone as far as to call them one of the most disappointing teams in the country, and that really is not far-fetched considering the Aggies hold a 3-4 overall record and are 1-3 in conference play. The team is currently on a 3-game losing streak, most recently falling 30-24 to No. 25-ranked South Carolina.

College football analyst Greg McElroy recently weighed in on just to the level this team has fallen short of expectations.

“I think based on paper… there’s no denying they’re the most disappointing team,” McElroy said. “But I thought it was ludicrous where they are in the AP Preseason Poll. Oh okay, you lose all off these veterans… now you’re going to replace them with freshmen. What do you think the freshmen are going to do?”

What types of changes Texas A&M makes after the season as it heads down the stretch will be something to keep an eye on.
