Jackson Arnold, who transferred from Oklahoma to Auburn after the 2024 season, apparently is ready for another fresh start.
The rising senior reportedly is set to enter the transfer portal for the second time in his career instead of choosing to play for the Tigers and new coach Alex Golesh in 2026. On3’s Justin Hokanson was first to report that news on Saturday evening.
Despite some early solid play, Arnold was benched in 2025 in favor of Ashton Daniels following a critical Pick-6 against Arkansas. Arnold did return to the lineup when Daniels faltered against Kentucky, but did not play against Vanderbilt or Alabama and only only saw spot duty in the Tigers’ 62-17 victory against Mercer down the stretch.
Arnold finished the 2025 season with 1,309 passing yards with 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. In his 2 seasons at Oklahoma, Arnold passed for 1,984 yards and 16 touchdowns with 6 interceptions.
Auburn has options at quarterback heading into 2026, as Daniels returns along with touted freshman Deuce Knight. The Tigers also signed 3-star prospect Rhys Brush out of high school. Golesh could also look to the transfer portal to add another potential starter for 2026.
