The Jacksonville Jaguars have a head coaching vacancy after firing Urban Meyer. On Day 1 of the interview request window, multiple candidates have emerged, including a pair of former assistants from current SEC schools: Matt Eberflus and Dan Quinn.

Eberflus was Mizzou’s defensive coordinator from 2001-08. He departed Columbia for an opportunity with the Cleveland Browns in 2009. He has been in the NFL since, coaching with the Dallas Cowboys (2011-17) and Indianapolis Colts (2018-present).

Quinn was Florida’s defensive coordinator under Will Muschamp for the 2011 and ’12 seasons. Quinn left UF to be the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator. He was then the Atlanta Falcons head coach from 2015-20. After being fired by the Falcons, Quinn became the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator.
