Kentucky has lost several players to the 2020 NBA Draft this week which makes any addition the program can get a big one.

That makes Jacob Toppin’s commitment all the more important as the Rhode Island transfer announced his commitment to John Calipari’s program on Thursday.

Toppin is the brother of Dayton’s Obadiah Toppin, who won the Naismith Trophy after averaging 20 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Toppin played one season at Rhode Island, appearing in 30 games with three starts and averaging 5.1 points, 0.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds last season for the Rams.
