The Alabama Crimson Tide won the SEC last year, following it up with an SEC Tournament title and a trip to the Sweet 16.

However, Nate Oats’ squad has been hit with some losses this offseason. Key players like John Petty Jr., Herb Jones and Josh Primo are off to the NBA Draft. Others are transferring or graduating.

Then, there was Jaden Shackelford, who led the team in points per game (with 14 points per contest). Shackelford entered the transfer portal this offseason.

But, as you can see below, he announced he was returning to Alabama on his Twitter account on Tuesday night:

That’s a big deal for Oats and the Crimson Tide, who should now be one of the favorites to win the SEC this coming season.

We’ll see if Shackelford can develop into an even better NBA prospect this year.
