Despite being projected as a first-round draft pick, former Alabama OL Cam Robinson fell to the second round, where the Jacksonville Jaguars nabbed him.
Now, as he tries to prove that he should have gone earlier, Robinson is already turning heads and impressing his coaches.
According to Jaguars.com, Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone said the ex-Crimson Tide star has been working at left tackle and has been making great strides during rookie minicamp:
“He stayed at left tackle the whole time,” Marrone said. “I like the things he did. I think he responded well. He really moved very well.’’
The Jaguars acquired veteran LT Brandon Albert in a trade back in March, but the team has yet to hear anything from him.
If the veteran doesn’t show up for offseason workouts, Robinson will likely have a chance to step in and steal the starting job.
Starter or not, though, it’s clear the Jaguars think they got a steal in Robinson this year.
