Jahmyr Gibbs explains how NFL practices are easier than Alabama practices

Jahmyr Gibbs was chosen in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, going No. 12 overall.
Now the former Alabama running back is trying to make an immediate impact on his new team. And it seems he’ll be fresh when the season starts this fall.
Why? Well, this week, Gibbs described the differences between an Alabama practice and an NFL practice. He implied he much prefers the pro practices:

“(Nick) Saban, he’s probably hitting every day,” Gibbs said. “Full pads in the heat for 2 hours. Here, we get good work in, but they don’t try to kill us. We good.”
Of course, it’s hard to argue that Saban’s Alabama practices didn’t have an impact on developing Gibbs into the player he is today. Now we’ll see if what he learned at Alabama in 2022 translates to the field in 2023 for the Lions, who will be sneaky playoff contenders this fall.
