One of the top high school defensive linemen in the country is getting closer to making his decision on where to go to college.

North Carolina native Jahvaree Ritzie has announced he plans on announcing his commitment on June 12, which just so happens to be his parent’s anniversary.

The Glenn High School star from Kernersville is listed as a four-star prospect, the No. 14 strongside defensive end and the No. 9 overall prospect from North Carolina in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In late April, Ritzie announced his top five schools are Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee out of the SEC with in-state North Carolina and Ohio State rounding out his list. Ritzie managed to visit Tennessee’s campus this spring before the NCAA put a halt on all college recruiting due to the coronavirus.

To get an idea of why the recruiting analysts are so high on Ritzie’s potential, check out his junior season highlight reel with Glenn High School.
