Georgia High School Association reportedly makes controversial decision on eligibility of 4-star QB Jake Garcia

USC commit and 2021 4-star quarterback prospect Jake Garcia thought he was going to get to play high school football this season for Georgia powerhouse Valdosta after transferring from the West Coast after his parents made the sacrifice of legally separating so Jake’s father could live with him in Georgia.
This would allow Jake to be immediately eligible for competition at the high school level – or so they thought.
The GHSA has reportedly ruled Garcia ineligible to take the field for Valdosta, which led by former Hoover and Colquitt County head coach Rush Propst. Garcia is filing an appeal.
Garcia is rated the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in his class, and is committed to play for USC among scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and several others.
Garcia was not able to play high school football in his home state as California is not playing high school football this season due to COVID-19.
Unless he wins the appeal, he may not get to play high school football in the South, either.
