Jake Hubenak announced Thursday that his playing career at Texas A&M is officially over.
The senior QB announced on Twitter that he had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum that had been bothering him all season long. It is a rough way to end a career, but Hubenak thanked Aggies fans for a memorable time at A&M.
Hubenak last played on Nov. 11 against New Mexico. He completed 1 of 2 passes for five yards in that game and finished this season with 98 yards passing. For his career, Hubenak posted 1,381 yards passing and 9 TDs.
Here’s the tweet he sent out to fans with an encouragement to take down Wake Forest in the bowl game:
This is the last pass of my career that I was able to throw.. I had surgery yesterday to repair my torn labrum that I had battled with all season. Thank you to the 12th Man for making my time as an Aggie a memorable one! Let’s #BTHOwakeforest Gig’em ?? pic.twitter.com/fHuVcIJQPO
