Jalen Milroe was never better during his collegiate career at Alabama than when he was playing with Tommy Rees as his offensive coordinator. During the 2023 season, Milroe passed for 2,718 yards, 23 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He was equally as impressive on the ground, as he rushed for 531 yards and 12 more scores.

Rees is now the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, a team that currently owns the 2nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Rees recently came out and said that Milroe is worthy of that pick, creating speculation the Browns could take him.

Milroe was asked on Monday about his experience playing for Rees.

“For me, it was the amount of knowledge that I learned from him,” Milroe said. “No. 1, with him playing the position and No. 2. through the coaching. I have gained so much knowledge and respect. The best thing about it is that we worked together through that process. It was so fun from the start of the season to the end of the season, the growth and everything that comes about it. I have so much respect for Coach Rees, so much respect for him as a person as well. All though it was a short period of time, I learned so much from him.”

It was in the passing game where Milroe was much better under Rees, and now, there is a possibility that Milroe could once again play for Rees in the NFL.

This past season, Milroe saw his passing numbers be worse than 2023. He nearly doubled his interceptions (6 to 11), while his passer rating went from 172.2 to 148.8.
