Jalin Hyatt had a promising start to his NFL career in 2023. In 2024, though, he didn’t come close to what he did as a rookie as his playing time dropped dramatically.
With a new quarterback behind center for the New York Giants in 2025, though, the former Tennessee star will look to get things back on track. If the Giants’ preseason finale against the New England Patriots on Thursday is any indication, he appears to be on the way to doing that.
With just over 2-and-a-half minutes to go in the first quarter, Jameis Winston connected with Hyatt from 30 yards out for a touchdown. Hyatt was able to give a little shove to his defender, Kobee Minor, then made a nice catch while falling to the ground.
Here’s the video:
Hyatt played in every game for the Giants in 2023, starting 7 times. He made 23 catches for 373 yards, including a 5-catch, 109-yard performance against the Patriots in Week 12.
But in 2024, he eventually dropped down the depth chart. He played in 16 games that season but started only 3 times and recorded just 62 yards on 8 catches. Over half of that yardage came in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers (4 catches, 39 yards).
