Jalin Hyatt made history in 2022. He’s not done making history in Knoxville yet.
The Vols’ star wide receiver became the 13th player in program history to achieve unanimous All-America status. Hyatt had already been voted to the 1st team of all five of the NCAA recognized All-America football teams before being named to the American Football Coaches Association first team on Wednesday.

Hyatt became the 1st Tennessee player to earn consensus All-American honors since Eric Berry in 2009 and 1st receiver to accomplish the feat. He also became the first Biletnikoff Award recipient in Vols history en route to a 10-2 regular season.
A native of Irmo, South Carolina, Hyatt led the FBS with 15 touchdown receptions and ranked 4th in receiving yards with 1,267 on 67 receptions. His 7 touchdown receptions against AP Top 25 teams led the nation as well.
Hyatt became the 3rd receiver in program history to total over 1,100 receiving yards in the regular season, joining Robert Meachem (2006) and Marcus Nash (1997). Best known as a vertical option, Hyatt’s 15 total touchdowns rank 6th all-time in SEC football history.
Hyatt announced this week he would not play in the Orange Bowl in order to turn his focus on the 2023 NFL Draft. Fellow receiver Cedric Tillman also declared for the draft and will not play against No. 7 Clemson on Dec. 30.
