Texas A&M stays hot on the recruiting trail, lands second 4-star commitment of the day
Texas A&M just landed its second commitment of the day, both of which are rated as four-star prospects, as in-state athlete Jarred Kerr has announced his commitment to Jimbo Fisher’s program.
Kerr’s decision comes just hours after four-star quarterback Eli Holstein announced his decision to commit to the Aggies. In case you were wondering, Holstein is a member of the 2023 recruiting cycle — A&M already holds a commitment from a QB in the 2022 class as five-star Conner Weigman has been an Aggie since February.
The Aggies’ latest pledge is rated as one of the state’s top defensive back prospects as the 6-foot, 180-pound Kerr is ranked as the No. 16 safety and a top 250 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Kerr is the ninth member of Texas A&M’s 2022 recruiting cycle and the seventh recruit rated as a four-star prospect or higher.
The Texas native picked the Aggies over scholarship offers from Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Baylor, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Texas Tech, among others.
In addition to being an outstanding prospect on the gridiron, Kerr also runs track for Lexington High School.
