Believe it or not, Auburn just got the first home win of the annual series between the Tigers and Texas A&M since the Aggies joined the SEC. Up until Saturday, the away team had won every meeting in the series. That streak has now come to an end, however, thanks to Auburn’s 28-24 come from behind victory on the Plains.

The Tigers were down 24-14 with under five minutes left in the game but thanks to a Kellen Mond interception, Auburn was given new life and the Tiger offense found its footing just in time to lead two scoring drives before time expired. Jarrett Stidham really came alive in the fourth quarter, finishing the game by completing 18 of 29 throws for 239 yards and two scores.

Immediately after the game, Stidham was interviewed on the field by ESPN sideline reporter Allison Williams. How did the Tigers find a way to make the comeback, he was asked.

“Found a way. These guys, all year we’ve faced all kinds of adversity and these guys really wanted it,” Stidham answered. “I think at the end of the day, that’s what it came down to, guys made plays and we got the win.”

Stidham’s thoughts on Auburn’s game-winning drive:

“Get the ball to my playmakers. Trusted the offensive line, they did a great job of protecting me,” he said. “I just tried to get it to those guys and let them make plays, and sure enough, they did.”

Stidham on his receiver, Ryan Davis:

“Ryan, he’s a special player for a special reason. He can do a lot of things. I’m super proud of him and the rest of the guys. Everybody, so so proud of these guys,” he continued.

On Auburn starting November with a big win:

“Absolutely, just like last year,” Stidham commented. “You had to start with A&M, the same thing this year. It’s great to be in this building, in this stadium with the greatest fans in the country and get a solid win.”
