Jasmine Carson was perfect to start LSU’s national championship bid against Iowa Sunday. LSU, in turn, was about as close to perfect as you can get, jumping to a 59-42 lead at the half.

The Tigers (and Hawkeyes) suffered from some iffy foul calls early, but that didn’t stop them from breaking an NCAA Tournament record for most points scored in a first half. The Tigers dropped 59 points on the Hawkeyes on a blistering 58% from the field and 9 made 3-pointers on 12 attempts. LSU is cooking.

Carson has been unbelievable to start. Not a single soul would have predicted Carson, who averages 2.2 points per game and has not scored in 3 games, to have 21 first half points on 7-7 shooting.

Carson even made the following bucket to end the first 20 minutes of play. The bank is open!

Fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing from the Tigers Sunday afternoon. And even though there are still 20 minutes remaining, it feels like LSU is unstoppable if they do even half of what they were able to in the first half.

Check out some of the best reactions to Carson’s improbable first half below:
